St Petersburg Boat Tour

St. Petersburg Guided Tours

It’s an open secret that St Petersburg boat tour counts among the most popular tours. On average 9 out of 10 tours include either a daytime Neva river cruise or a night boat tour along numerous St Petersburg canals and under the famous raised bridges.  No wonder: St. Petersburg looks amazingly beautiful from water.

The most common 1-hour St Petersburg boat tour covers the Fontanka and Moika Rivers, Winter Canal and the Grand Neva. If you have a bit longer than 1 hour at your disposal, it’s possible to make a longer route. Thus, 1 hour 15 minutes’ canal cruise will also include the Kryukov and Griboyedov Canals. This boat tour duration is ideal to see the main sights of the old city centre from water.

Sometimes, when we speak about a 2-hour canal cruise, it’s possible to include more of the Neva and also canals around islands of Petrograd side. Such a tour will be picturesque. Besides, the customers often bring drinks and snacks for such a tour and kill two birds with one stone. Upon your wish we can cater Russian champagne or beer, soft drinks and snacks for you.

It is ideal to combine St Petersburg canal cruise with other tours, such as city sightseeing tour by car, visits to Peter and Paul Fortress, St. Isaac’s Cathedral and Church on the Blood. Full day tours can include Hermitage Museum, Catherine Palace and Amber Room and/or Peterhof besides a daytime or night boat tour.

St Petersburg Boat Tour by a Slow Retro Boat

In some situations slow retro boat is invaluable for a St Petersburg canal cruise. The capacity of a small retro boat is 12 passengers (including the guide and captain). Retro boats have cabins with glass tops, so you will enjoy the tour even in rainy or windy weather. For picnics on water and longer tours (2 hours and more) retro boats are also more comfortable due to WC facilities on board. Slow retro boat is especially recommended for the night Neva river cruise with raised bridges.

Accessible Boat Tour in St Petersburg

Our small accessible boat has a flat deck (big enough for 2 wheelchairs) and 5-6 people accompanying. We use accessible piers that have ramps (no stairs). Please note that such a wheelchair accessible boat tour is always quite long: accessible piers are located along the Kryukov Canal and provided this location, a circular canal cruise takes about 1 hour 30 minutes or so. Please take it into consideration when planning your tour day.
